Keep It Shut

NWA Women
Jan 9 - Apr 10
Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing at All  by Karen Ehman explores how to better control your tongue, knowing what to say and how to say it, and realizing when it is best to say nothing at all.
From Bible times to modern times women have struggled with their words. What to say and how to say it. What not to say. When it is best to remain silent. And what to do when you’ve said something you wish you could now take back. In this book a woman whose mouth has gotten her into loads of trouble shares the hows (and how-not-tos) of dealing with the tongue.

Beyond just a “how not to gossip” book, this book explores what the Bible says about the many ways we are to use our words and the times when we are to remain silent. Karen will cover using our speech to interact with friends, co-workers, family, and strangers as well as in the many places we use our words in private, in public, online, and in prayer. Even the words we say silently to ourselves. She will address unsolicited opinion-slinging, speaking the truth in love, not saying words just to people-please, and dealing with our verbal anger.
Christian women struggle with their mouths. Even though we know that Scripture has much to say about how we are—and are not—to use our words, this is still an immense issue, causing heartache and strain not only in family relationships, but also in friendships, work, and church settings.

The Friends of Jesus

NWA Women
Jan 11 - Mar 8

In this study, Karen Kingsbury explores six people in the life of Jesus- Simon the Leper, Martha, Jairus, Mary Magdalene, Peter, John. All six of these friends of Jesus bring a variety of experiences and examples that show the ups and downs of friendship, and remind us that true friendship is worth the time and commitment involved through those challenging and joyful times.

Most of all, this Bible study reminds readers that Jesus is the greatest friend they could ever have. He is your Savior and your Lord, now make Him your friend.

The Quest

NWA Women
Jan 18 - Mar 8
Curiosity is hardwired in humanity. We have this innate need to question and seek after what we don’t know or understand.

The Quest is a cross between a curriculum and a journal. A six week journey between a classroom and a prayer closet with three primary objectives:
  1. To promote deeper intimacy with God
  2. To help foster a sojourner mentality to aid as comfort that we are only passing through this world on our way somewhere else. This is not our home. To foster an adventure mentality as royal subjects of royal blood unrecognized my the world but headed to an unshakeable kingdom worth the trip. (Acts 14:22)

There is no quest without questions!

We will use questions from scripture to lead you to intimacy with the One who knows you best. The Quest is a challenge to accept the invitation.

Precept In and Out - Galatians

NWA Women
Jan 17 - Mar 14
Galatians - Who Has Bewitched You? Why and How?

As the gospel spread across the Roman world in the first decades after Jesus’ earthly ministry, conflict arose. Jews and Gentiles were believing the gospel, and a struggle over what it meant to be a Christian began. What does it mean to live under grace? Do you have to keep the Law to be a Christian? All of it or just part of it? Who is right? How will we know?

God used an apostle to write a letter to some churches that were struggling with this issue, a letter that still speaks today. Its message clearly defines the relationship between Law and grace, and how Christians live under grace, led by the Spirit, free from bondage.

Workbooks will be available for purchase at the first class for $14.

Do you understand how to "integrate" discipleship into all areas of your life?
Has God put someone in your sphere of influence to help grow in Christ?

In this class, we will:
  • Discuss the meaning of Christ's command in Matthew 28:18-20.
  • Identify and remove personal barriers hindering discipleship.
  • Learn practical aspects of discipling: Listen, Love & Pray.
  • Gain information regarding logistics and essential discipleship elements.
  • Become better equipped to serve and reach others for Christ.
  • Access Fellowship's Women's Discipleship Team, support and resources.

Let us help you get started on this incredible journey of discipleship!

Materials will be provided. This class will meet in room 161 in the BiLD Training Center. Childcare is available through Sunday morning services. Contact Mary Wilson with any questions or for more information. View More
