CR Small Groups

Healing takes place among a network of brothers and sisters, which is why small groups are such an essential part of Celebrate Recovery.

Whatever the hurt, hang-up, or habit might be, people honestly working through the material in these step-study groups are able to form strong bonds and support teams, find accountability partners, sponsors, and friends through sharing and caring. Most importantly, they are able to be freed from the shame, guilt and pain of their issues by learning to let go and let God take over – one day at a time!

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

The entry point for Celebrate Recovery is to come on Friday Night. After the worship service, we will ask you to attend Celebrate Recovery Orientation for your first meeting. This will give you a feel for what to expect in a Friday night Open Share Group, as well as in our Step-Study Groups that meet during the week. All you have to do is show up, and we will walk you through everything.

FRIDAY NIGHT OPEN SHARE GROUPS

These one hour meetings on Friday nights are an overflow from the worship time. Many things we hear in the worship service strike something in our heart, and it is good to share those with other friends. These groups are gender and issue specific. If there is not a group for your specific issue, then feel free to go to our "A-Z" open share group.

Note: Anyone can go into any group of the same gender and share whatever your issues are with others. This is an important part of the recovery journey, but make sure to follow the "5 Guidelines" during open sharing.

MEN'S GROUPS

  • A to Z (General Issues)
  • Chemical Dependency
  • Divorce Recovery
  • Codependency
  • Renewal from Sexual Addiction

  • Welcome Home (for military or military contract workers returning home)

WOMEN'S GROUPS

JOIN A STEP-STUDY

Step-study groups are held during the week, and meetings generally last 2 hours. Men and women, separated by gender, work through "The Journey Begins Participant's Guide Vol 1-4" (based on the 8 principles and their Biblical comparison from Matthew 5), while following the "5 Guidelines for Sharing" during meetings. Groups meet weekly for about 12 months under the gentle and loving guidance of a trained leader and/or co-leader to let Christ help them reveal and deal with issues in their lives that have become heavy baggage.

Whatever the hurt, hang-up, or habit might be, people honestly working through the material in these step study groups are able to form strong bonds and support teams, find accountability partners, sponsors and friends through sharing and caring. Most importantly, they are able to be freed from the shame, guilt and pain of their issues by learning to let go and let God take over – one day at a time!
